The Resettlement of Bulgaria’s German Minority 1938-1944
In 1938 about 2000 ethnic Germans lived in what was then the Kingdom of Bulgaria. By the end of 1944 only about 200 were left. The rest had been resettled to the German Reich.

Red: Places inside Bulgaria (borders before 1940)
Blue: Southern Dobruja (annexed by Bulgaria in September 1940)
Green: Places occupied by Bulgaria during WWII.
